Mastering Perl available for pre-order

Mastering Perl made its way to the online bookshops (although it's not in O'Reilly's catalog yet).

Notice that Amazon has a new fangled URL, but uses the old 10 digit ISBN:

http://www.amazon.com/Mastering-Perl-Brian-Foy/dp/0596527241

It's also at Barnes & Noble, which uses the new 13 digit EAN:

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?EAN=9780596527242

And Powell's, which just has to be different:

I don't suppose...

A package of all 3 would be forthcoming?

Also, do you still have that extra addendum to "Learning"?

You mean the Learning Perl Study Guide? You have to buy that through me because it's not in the retail channels.

Amazon URLs

petdance on 2007-03-06T21:14:29

The first part of the URL is meaningless, as in:

http://www.amazon.com/Randal-Schwartzs-Navel-A-Pictorial-History/dp/0596527241

Yeah, that's not going to last long. People are going to start emailing URLs like "Bestiality Illustrated" with links to magazines dedicated to Labrador Retrievers or something. This will be a fascinating PR experiment in Amazon's part.

It's been around for six months so far:

Shorter URLs like this still work.
