Randal, Tom, and I finished working on the Alpaca five minutes ago. It's now in Allison's hands. If everything goes well it should be out by late March. Who wants to book us for an author event? :)
The next edition is going to be bigger (about the size of the Llama), renamed to Intermediate Perl, and contains several new chapters.
I also discovered that a lot of stuff that went missing between editions of Advanced Perl Programming is in the Alpaca, which is part of the reason it's not in there.
I was kinda hoping for a break, but I start working on another book I've proposed, Mastering Perl next week. I'll have more details on that later. Right now I just need a drink. :)
