Damian's book goes for $1,500 per page

I write about this in my O'Reilly weblog article "Damian's book is a bargain".

During tonight's TPF auction, a generous Perler paid $1,500 for the first page of the first copy of Damian's upcoming book. That means you don't get to whine about the price for all the pages. :)

This is the same book that was the topic of my recent interview with Damian, and I personally think its a book the Perl world has needed for a while.

Damian Conway is the best!

I've read Damian Conway's book " Object Oriented Perl". I didn't find better explanation of OOP in Perl.

You might want to check out Randal's Barnyard Object Oriented Tutorial (perlboot), which is also the stuff that's in Learning Perl Objects, References, & Modules, for which Damian wrote the foreword. :)

I've found Damian Conway's book more clear and detailed. There are many helpful examples and (it's amazine!) whole book is about only OOP on Perl. There are not any parts about what is Perl, how to programm on Perl bla bla bla etc. It's really one of my favourit Perl books!

Seconded. I didn't understand OOP at all until I read it (a true AhHa moment).

That sure was one crazy auction. Although I'm not sure how much I'd pay for Uri not to hug me.
