chromatic interviews me.

You'll have to read the interview to see when Perl 6 comes out, why computers aren't as fast as they could, and why the sky is blue.

Well, not really. We just talk about The Perl Review. The sky is blue because light refracts in the atmosphere. The other two I can't answer.

The sky is blue because light refracts in the atmosphere.
Why?

Your god will annswer those questions when you get to wherever it is you go next.

Hm. I was hoping for an answer that involved wavelengths, rods and cones. ;-)

Actually the sky is blue due to Rayleigh scattering. There's a good, simple explanation here:

As for when Perl 6 will come out, the answer is simple - Real Soon Now (TM) :-)

Finally, what does if mean that "computers aren't as fast as they could (be)"?
Well, obviously, a computer cannot transmit data faster than the speed of light. So computers are constrained due to the lower-than-C speed of electrical data transmittion, as well as due to the use of synchronous circuits. When chips become photonic and asynchronous, they will be as fast as they can be :-)

Hope this helps,

Have you looking into mailing all the European copies to a single trusted person and having them distribute them locally?

I've thought about that, but it's just as bad as mailing them myself unless everyone wants them two months late. :)

It's also a big problem with customs.
