Living in a tent in the desert sucks, and I am still doing it (although last week I did get to sleep in a building for the first time since I was on leave in November, but that was only one night).
Part of the suckitude is a legal pad full of ideas and no electricity or internet.
- Aforementioned proxy
- mod_perl handler to turn http://.../style.css into the user selected style sheet, like that Zen Garden thing I have heard about (and inkdroid pointed out when I told him about the idea)
- Scripts to automatically post to LiveJournal and use.perl from BBEdit using a contextual menu
- Thingys to add to the MacOS X "Print to..." dialog options like "Post to LJ" and "Post to use.perl"
- command line tool to check the status and relevant information of bills before Congress
- Oh, add a "Complain to Congressman" Print Service.
- A way to mark up an entire book in XML and from that produce a concordnance.
That's just the stuff I thought up last week as I laid in my rack and stared at the top of the tent.

It's not command-line, but
Jefferson is kinda cool.

Some of the Air Force guys live pretty well, some do not (meaning, they have a TV less than 30 inches across) :)
