I need to create a command line tool to pull down the latest LiveJournal posts by my friends. I hate using websites. It is just too much work for me to select a bookmark and scroll a web browsers. I need a one character alias and the space bar. That's about my speed. That is how I read all of the use.perl journals already. It is quick and easy with no clicking.
Fortunately, LiveJournal has an open interface. Unfortunately, I do not have the means to spend a lot of time testing anything I write.
Screw this war, I'm going home.
I did google a bit and found that there is already a Module out there called LJ::Simple, which might help you with (not) reinventing the wheel.
You can find LJ::Simple on CPAN.
I hope that helps in your persuit of a command line tool.

I have that module lying around and I talked to the author about it. Too bad it is not LiveJournal::Simple, which would have made it much easier to find on CPAN.
