120 Gb is not enough

I just filled up a 120Gb drive. I filled it up a couple of days ago, but then I compressed everything to free up another 20Gb, which then disappear. It is a USB external drive, so it is not very fast, but it is great for long-term storage. I copy stuff to a fast, Firewire drive, then move the stuff off the fast drive to the slow drive overnight. It only cost $200, which was the right price for me.

I got a new Powerbook a couple of months ago. It has a 40 Gb drive. I noticed that I have only 8 Gb of free space left.

Today I looked on Amazon for another $200 drive. I would like to just get what I already got. It has been discontinued in favor of the same thing, but 250GB. It is twice the price, and even though it is twice the storage, I will wait for it to be the same price.

Ten years ago I was happy to have a 40 Mb drive in my personal computer. Now I want a huge RAID setup and a tape drive. That's just for my personal computer. I just like data too much. Data good! No storage bad!
