Somebody asked "What CPAN modules should I be checking out?" earlier today. I thought the best of ideas is to go to This site really is a most valuable resource, especially for people fairly new to Perl and CPAN.
Can it be started up again, or is it too resource intensive (read: costly)? I don't even remember whose site it is, some guy named "Mark" from London.pm, that's all I seem to recall. There's an, apparently abandoned account, advent, here. Or, should there be a mirror set up, like, under the *.perl.org umbrella? Update: Ooh, I just found a mirror site: Update (20:30CET): I see it's up again. The question still stands: what if it goes down indefinitely?

What'd you do when the DNS expired (since renewd, not fully restored)? Is the mirror still sitting there, inaccessible-like?

Well, there's always the Wayback Machine. However that shan't be necessary, as I've received the backups from Mark and am posting them on the new Perl Mongers hosted site (the URL's should be the same).
