Once upon a time, it was outstanding to see someone post 1,000 reports to the cpan-testers mailing list. Last month we saw the top 6 posters for the month all post over 1,000 reports, with Chris posting over 15,968 reports! We have several new testers joining the group, and a few regulars who have upped their contributions, who have all helped to now make May 2007 the month with the most reports posted.

Perl 5.6.1 came back into the frame last month, but only for 3 platforms. Perl 5.8.8 seems to be the dominant Perl version, so there's plenty of opportunity for new testers to get involved with other versions on their favourite platform. In fact just about any other Perl version on any platform would be most welcome at the moment.

This month will also see me presenting at YAPC::NA. The first talk, How To Be A CPAN Tester, was originally going to be a joint talk between myself and David Golden, with each of us covering CPAN-Reporter and CPAN-YACSmoke respectively. Unfortunately David is now no longer able to attend, due to work commitments, so he's going to help write some notes for me, and I'll be presenting the talk solo. If you're attending, and are a CPAN Tester or thinking or becoming one, I'd be very grateful if you could give me some feedback on the talk. I'll also be holding a CPAN Testers BOF at some point, hopefully on Monday, so if you can join me, please do so.

As an added bonus there will be a (hopefully) live unveiling during the talk, so hopefully that all goes to plan :)
