I was planning to go to a couple of workshops before the end of the year, but I now realise the two I had in mind conflict with Real Life (tm).
The Nordic Perl Workshop, which I was even planning to submit a talk for, I've left a little too late to plan and organise around other things in my home life.
On the London.pm list, there was recently an indication of the likely date for the London Perl Workshop (last year's page, but I'm sure it'll get updated soon). This coincides with Nicole's birthday. The chances of me being in the doghouse if I go to LPW are probably greater than high.
Instead I have now set my sights on going to the Austrian Perl Workshop next year, and maybe the Nordic and London ones if they don't clash and I can organise myself better. I'm also planning to visit all the active Perl Mongers groups in the UK, who hold real life meetings, before YAPC::Europe next year. I might even have to make some T-shirts ... "Barbie's Perl Tour" :)
