This morning I went to check my mail. Over 1400 messages waiting for me since Friday morning. That's over 1 mail message a minute. Over 1000 of them were from MAILER-DAEMON@aol.com. Personally I call that mail bombing, all because clueless admins don't just drop messages that are spam, which they all were.
I have now set up a specific check to remove any messages from my POP account that look anything like the aol address, and send a bounce. Hopefully they might get the message and fix their servers. But I doubt it.
I noticed earlier in the week my spam count had started to rise sharply, but hadn't realised by just how much. Out of the 1400+ messages, just over 200 were real messages.
:(
Is there anything nice to say about AOL?
I suppose they did give a few pennies to keep Mozilla alive, if only to get a better deal from Microsoft..
