This weekend I attended ManorCon at Birmingham University. Originally I was just along to meet a friend and have a few drinks, but seeing as I am a bit of a gamer, I was persuade to have a good game of Settlers Of Catan. I haven't played it for quite sometime, and claimed to be a bit rusty. Unfortunately for the others who had persuaded me to play I won :)
For most people the idea of board games conjures up thoughts of Cluedo and Monopoly. However, these games are alot more entertaining. I got to watch a game of Puerto Rico with an extension pack, which changed the regular gameplay quite subtly. I would have liked to have stayed longer and played a few more games, particularly Carcassonne, but I still needed to prepare for Paris this week. Next year I plan to be along for the whole weekend.
