Ingy set up the temporary Apocalypse Kwiki for his imminent Pugs talk in OSCON. Instead of focusing on release engineering, I got massively sidetracked into just-in-time movie production. After an afternoon of work, here is the "motd.p6" movie in three formats:
Much thanks to ninereasons for pugspraise, which I used as the movie's script.
Ingy also asked me to port the opening paragraph from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to the Pugs world. Here is my first stab at it:
Fear and Loathing in Camel-lot
We had two grammars of regexes, seventy-five levels of roles, five kinds of high-dimensional hyper operators, a precedence table half-full of symbols, and a whole multiply dispatched collection of methods, submethods, pointies, blocks... Also, an inferencer of subtypes, a metaoperator of reductions, a tree of macros, a set of disjoint junctions, and nine unboxed intrinsics. Not that we needed all that for the prototype, but once you get into a serious module collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the junction. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a function in the depths of junctive autothreading, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.
Also, check out the ongoing interviews submitted by lambdacamels. Feel free to chime in on that page!
The Interviews are very nice. Is this a Chinese form of what is known here (in the ignorant so called 'west') as Haeku ? Doesn't matter, I like the prosody.
This is very nice,
Humans begin life gentle and tender
Turn hard and rigid in death
Plants begin life gentle and fragile
Wither and dry up in death
Thus gentle and tender are living types
Hard and rigid are dying types
but there's more because there is hope and our hope is Perl 6.

Thank-you for your kind words.:-) These free verses are from Dao De Jing. I used the translation from Wikisource.
