Day 39: A quiet day

All of my time today was spent on JITing the slides before the talk; I wrote most of them on the overpacked commuter train, on which I miraculously grabbed a seat, Ryusei-Kacho style, and finally finished filling in the last slide just before going on stage. They I spent 3 more hours after the talk to fill in the pictures... Anyway, here are the slides at your viewing pleasure. It's mostly in Traditional Chinese, though. :)

So, that left me with absolutely no time to work on Pugs today, except bringing malaire and gugod on board as new committers. However, our trusty band of committers kept churning out good bits:

  • metaperl created example/hashes and populated it with simpleiter.p6.
  • mugwump pulled an amazing feat in getting send+more+money working correctly in Pugs, and posted a nice summary of his findings.
  • mugwump also populated the t/junction/ tests.
  • theorbtwo uncovered an 2004 ruling about time() counting epoch from Y2K; it is not codified in the Synopses/Apocalypses, so he posted on p6c asking for that.
  • malaire made his first commit by implementing UTF8-based hyper operators, starting with »+« »*« »/« »x« »xx« -- it should eventually be folded back into the parser; luqui said he'll look into it today.
  • gugod made his first commit by testing the ||= operator.
  • obra, ingy and I talked some more about plans to use RT-Foundry on RT 3.4 to host Perl6 module development.
  • Many other interesting developments that I can't summarize anymore. :-/

With these developments, 6.0.11 draws near. See you tomorrow!
