Day 37: Another day of tests.

Too exhausted to write a long journal now, so just some bullet points:

  • I submitted a proposal for "Apocalypse Now" to YAPC::NA. I'll probably also submit to ICFP'05 as well, and Euroscon if there will be one.
  • Philip Wadler invited me to be listed in the Functional Programming in the Real World page. I'm honoured.
  • PerlChina folks put video recordings of my talk online for download.
  • Ingy fixed some more build problems, so we are now finally reasonably buildable on older perls. MakeMaker is a pain; Build.PL volunteers welcome!
  • Stevan and viirya updated PA01's module policy chunk, as mentioned yesterday.
  • The helpful soul theorbtwo accepted the committer bit right after reading yesterday's journal. :) mugwump became a new committer today, so he can check in his fixed sendmoremoney.p6.
  • rooneg continued to add proper svn:ignores on various directories. scw beat me to it and committed a fix to todo_isa_ok.
  • Darren continues works on Locale::KeyedText, uncovering many extremely useful perl6 constructs, such as subtypes, in a series of enlightening discussions with Larry on p6l.
  • I got try {} working (no CATCH yet), thereby fulfilling my promise to nothingmuch when he first joined the team.
  • Speaking of nothingmuch, he continued to throw in even more tests, bringing in the total to 1395. He also threatened to import malaire's 700 additional rules tests, which will add to more than 2000. Wow.
  • Also, stringification of hash now works; lone blocks with } followed by end-of-line now adds an implicit semicolon.
  • PerlChina people has also created a call for Pugs hackers page and posted it to some other places; yay for advocacy!

There are also a bunch of interesting threads on p6l and p6c and #perl6, but I'll leave them for another day. See you tomorrow!
