PAR tutorial: Attendee->new(4) or die $!;

(The message below has just been posted to par@perl.org. Ideas on how to increase the turnout will be very much appreciated. I have been notified that they need 4 more people.)

After three days of preparing the tutorial slides for my TPC talk:
http://conferences.oreillynet.com/cs/os2003/view/e_sess/3892

I have finally finished them and submitted them on time. Thanks for everybody who have mailed me suggestions privately, without which the slides would've been an unrenderable incoherent mess. :-)

...but just after typing the above paragraph, a Bad News hit my inbox, informing me that:

  • The PAR tutorial is currently poorly attended
  • If ORA does not get some extra people to sign up by the end of next week, they will have to cancel it
  • Which means I will not show up at OSCON/TPC, due to the very high airfare + entry fee.

So. I'm at a loss about what I can do to find enough people to attend my talk, so as usual, I turn to the list for ideas. Any suggestions are welcome, as long as they are legal. :)

FWIW, registration URL is at:

Thanks,
