Matt mentioned how nice the OS X developer tools are. Yes, indeed. He is playing with Objective-C for which they are even nicer, but even for Java they are quite nice. I haven't used Java at all in quite a while but this Sunday I whipped up a useful applet in half a day or so. It was almost enjoyable.
