Perl community OpenID provider?

OpenID is a useful thing and in fact it is like "the definition in terms of itself", because today you may avoid programming something to collect user's registration data and use OpenID instead.

OpenIDs are brillian for comments. Although it is slightly slower to follow several redirects and pressing additional button (to confirm that you allow provider to identify you).

But my question is: is there any OpenID provider related to Perl community? I mean that people who use Perl websites are often use the same nicknames which are not always equal to those used in livejounral or somewhere else.

I'd like to have an OpenID provider on use perl jounal, or even at openid.perl.org.

Some time ago I asked Ask Hansen if bitcard might be turned into an OpenID provider. He said yes, it's planned.

But I also had some plans to write a small app that provides something like single-sign-on via PAUSE, including OpenID. But thanks to severe lack of tuits this project is not very likely to ever see the light of day...

Act has already OpenID support!

On Act sites (e.g http://www.perlworkshop.no/npw2009/) you can use your personal page as an OpenID URL. For example, my personal OpenID URL is http://www.perlworkshop.no/npw2009/user/244.

I tested if it works with the OpenID login at http://osx.iusethis.com/, and it did. :)

Unrfortunately that does not work with previous events, because no OpenID metadata present on user pages.

Another problem is how to promote it :-)
