When I lived in the US I bought a number of belts from REI. One lives permenantly on my hiking trousers, the other two alternate on my work trousers. I've had them for nearly a decade, and in the that time they haven't warped, snapped or been uncomfortable. Eventually the Delrin buckles have failed in the two I wear the most - in both cases by accidental damage rather than natural wear.
The manufacturer, Bison Designs, is still in business and still makes the T-Lock™ belt I want. Annoyingly they won't ship outside the US. I'll have to fiddle about having them shipped to a friends house and then having him post them on to me. If my employer was going to send me to the US on business now would be a good time, but they never want you to travel when it's convenient for you...!
