On Monday I start my transition into yet another role at work. For the last 18 months I've been learning SAP BASIS administration, on Monday I start to learn SAP development.
Our system is mature, so the work isn't new development, it's mostly system maintanice and minor tweaks. It's going to be quite interesting, and significant gear change to change from Perl to SAP's ABAP (a kind of COBOL+SQL).
I'm hoping to continue my Perl/SAP work though, with a B2B project. The current Perl B2B system pulls just over ã12million a year into the business but it need migrating off an antique Windows systems onto a Linux system where it will be more secure and a lot easier to maintain.
I just transitioned from Windows SA->Programmer->Programmer/HP SA.

I suppose so, I'm not into exclusive clubs... Ironically today I was doing mostly Perl to replace part of a Java monstrosity that I've inherited. I've yet to start any ABAP.
