Today was very slow at work and lunch dragged on quite a while. I was doing the rounds of various web sites when this caught my eye: Bomb-Sniffing Wasps. My better half did some of the inital work when she was based in Tifton Georgia and has her name on the patent they were eventually granted - I know as I signed as the witness for the paper work.
The patent is ABSURD, it's all based on existing work they is nothing new or inventive about it at all, but we all know about the US patent office...

It is rather cool - there is even a brief interview on NPR with Joe Lewis - the lead scientist.
We had a wonderfully bomb and wasp free christmas.
