QEMU at the LUG

Yesterday was our September LUG meeting. It went very well, I met some very nice people, and I was able to give away some old PC kit that was gathering dust.

I introduced some people to the QEMU generic emulator. It works very well on modern PCs with plenty of spare clock cycles. One person installed Debian into his SUSE box, and another installed Debian into their ubuntu box.

Today I completed the network component of QEMU, so I was able to upgrade my virtual systems directly of the network. At the moment I'm downloading a Ubuntu "Breezy" Colony-3 to see what that looks like.

As I wasn't at YAPC::EU::2005 this year, I wore my YAPC::EU::2003 Paris T-shirt to the LUG meeting instead. I even had a nice civilised conversation about Perl, so a good day all round.
