I'm back from my Xmas holidays. I should officially be on "compulsory leave" at the moment, I'm actually at work - I'd rather have my annual leave when I want it, not when the company does. So I'm providing IT cover for the systems I look after (which are perfectly stable on their own) - which means I'm actually doing something else more productive.
I'm taking an ancient piece of Perl/XSLT code and repurposing it again. I'd almost replaced the code when that project was cancelled, so now I'm having to go back to a "proof of concept" quality code based, and repurpose it for another disposable but "production urgency" project. If I'd have been allowed to finish the main project, it would have been dead easy, however instead I'm hacking on an old and very dirty hack...
