Network File Systems...

At home I'm working on building a new home server, out of the carcass of a scrap Compaq Deskpro 2000 from work. I've got Debian Sarge on the box at the moment, and the basic partitioning done, but the real configuration has yet to start.

Alas I have one Windows client on my network so I need to run Samba on the box, so it can access shared drives. I could use CUPS for printing, but I may as well use Samba as I have to have it running anyway for file shares.

Though I can use Samba, it feels silly using it on the Linux/Solaris clients to connect to the Linux server. The natural choice is NFS, which I've never configured before.

Once I've got the box running properly, I'll be able to start working on my Perl modules again. XML::RSS::Tools needs working on, though there is a possible bug in XML::LibXML's catalog (sic) support that may need fixing first.
