We are a small IT team at work, and we need to beef-up our skills as we are vulnerable to single points of failure - me for example. I'm hoping to get RHCE training, and another colleague is looking for a quick overview of OpenSource technologies.
What I'm looking for, for him, is an overview course that includes Linux and the Linux environment, Perl, CGI, and Apache - your basic "LAMP" course really. Taking "The Learning Tree" in the UK as our base, I'm a bit worried that their courses seem a bit long/slow for what they cover, and in the end my colleague needs a broad skill set rather than a deep understanding of just one topic.
GB Direct seem to offer a nice set of training, as do IBM, but I have no idea as to the quality of them. On paper I think I prefer to send my colleague of to GB Direct rather than The Learning Tree, but that's just a gut feeling.
