Work were throwing out ancient Compaq Deskpro 2000s, so I got two. One for my father to play a few games on, and do a little surfing, and one for me to replace an even older Dell that my pervious employer threw out. After some struggling with a defective Compaq/Intel e100 Ethernet card, I've got Debian Sarge onto both of them.
Once I've got "Herisson" up and running, I'll replace the old Dell "Loir", and try to get to the bottom of the XML::RSS::Tools bug that has been lurking for the past year. As I'm running a newer version of Linux than perviously I'll be able to test in an environment similar to the one where the tests fail.
At some point I may even get round to repacing my desktop system, "Marmot", with something manufactured this century. DN UK do a nice range of AMD64 and Opteron kit, and are Linux friendly so I won't have to pay a Windows tax on the machine.
