I've finally got back up to speed after my holiday visiting family in France. Normandy is very pretty, though I must confess I prefer Brittany, but either way, both are very nice places, and I will be going back.
While in France I was distributing TheOpenCD to various relatives, and encouraging them to swicth to Firefox or Opera rather than the Wanadoo branded IE they were all using. My brother-in-law seems to be happy with Mozilla already, and I managed to switch someone else over to Firefox. I know they are tiny drops in the vast bucket of IE crapness, but combined with one more person at work, I'm chipping away at IE...
If you haven't seen it already, The Web Standards Project, have a nice site called Browse Happy, with some nice "switch over" stories from non-geeks.
