We went up north to see my dad over the Bank Holiday* weekend. The traffic was terrible, but rail-fares are so high that we had to drive! However the weather was glorious, and I even got a sun tan while hiking over the hills of the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales.
I almost managed to go for 6 days without a computer or an Internet connection. While we were there my dad wanted to buy a 16:9 ratio 66cm TV so he can watch sport. We went along to the shop on the Bank-Holiday Monday, only to find it closed, so we ordered one of their Internet site instead!
*For those who do not know, a Bank Holiday is a national public Holiday in the UK, so called as the banks are closed. I don't know if this is a myth, but it's late and I've not looked it up in a dictionary.
