I survived my somewhat harrowing trip "up north", only to get a nasty cold on arrival back home. Today I think I'll go home early and feel sorry for my self.
To go to my mothers funeral I elected to travel north on a Virgin Train. The new Voyager class trains are actually very comfortable, with plenty of space, and power sockets for your notebook/walkman/mobile. However they are running on ancient track and sharing it with slow ancient commuter trains - resulting in a slow but comfortable trip. At least I had plenty of time to read Object Oriented Perl again....
