Regexp::English does this. It's pretty painful for the short stuff, though I like bound variables quite a bit.
No, that's regexes. Surely you mean "zero or more characters"?'*' means match zero or more times

So obviously Perl has many septate languages, of which only two are listed above. It's not unreasonable to assume the regexps are the other one.
