I made it to San Diego via lots of boring flying. We should have net access in planes these days, I tell you. The hotel is big and impressive as hotels usually are. I got a room upgrade, so I'm happy... Gearing up to the conference, I've bumped into lots of people and as promised, here is my photo diary.
I got in Saturday and met up with the London.pm crew, and on Sunday met up with various people, such as andy, cwest, davorg, DJ, michel, muttley, and uri.
Coming in a day early was a great way to combat jetlag, but it left us with a day free, so we did the done thing and pretended we were tourists and went to the San Diego Zoo which was huge. We saw flamingoes, giraffes and giant turtles. We clearly had to see the camels - we scared a zoo worker with our Perl Monger tshirt with the camel on. The highlight of the show (ignore the pandas) was the cute polar bears swimming and playing in the water.
And then we got down to some serious drinking, headed off to the old town, had some great mexican food, and crashed out. Today the tutorials start, so I'm off to grab a muffin and start the Damian track...
Oh, and I should have worn sunscreen yesterday...
