More about dynamic languages

An update to dynamic languages on virtual machines. One more data point, Mozilla just announced IronMonkey, a project to map IronPython and IronRuby to Tamarin (what will become the new JavaScript virtual machine in Mozilla). I'm not a huge fan of pre-announcing projects, but JavaScript, Python, Ruby appear to be on every virtual machine out there. Why isn't Perl? Why aren't they on Parrot?

It's might be obvious, but...

it doesn't help that this project has two moving targets: the language and the VM. And progress hasn't exactly been speedy, especially over the past year or so. There are many reasons for this, but they don't make it any less painful.
