YAPC::Europe is in Birmingham from 30th August to 1st September. The Monday in that week, the 28th August, is a bank holiday in England. This means that many things will be closed. I live in Notting Hill, and the Notting Hill Carnival is held that Monday (well, and Sunday for the kids). In fact it goes down my street (I live on 39A Chepstow Road, so it's hard to ignore). If you're in London before heading up to Birmingham you might want to swing by Notting Hill on Monday to enjoy the festivities. It's hard to meet up during the carnival, but I'm organising a BBQ in the evening. Hope to see you there!
