The London Perl Workshop 2005 happened on Saturday. Contrary to popular opinion, it wasn't timed to coincide with the introduction of more relaxed drinking laws - but we did manage to drink in a pub until 1am!
I really enjoyed the conference - around 100 people turned up early on a Saturday morning. Greg's talk at the beginning set an interesting theme: stop messing around talking about things and actually JFDI. We can knock up little things in Perl which astound non-techy people, you just need to actually start doing it instead of merely thinking about it or having arguments about frameworks. If just a few people took that message home then the conference will have succeeded.
