João Pedro Gonçalves stepped up and talked about High availability Perl Apps on a large ISP. He explained the history behind Perl use in Sapo, showing some detail in how ISPs work and where Perl fit in. They use the Radiator RADIUS server, which is all Perl (quite Apache-like) and he showed how configurable they can make it (redirecting users to "You have not paid" pages and so on. They use flow-tools for accounting purposes using Cflow: 100 millions flows per hour representing 750G of traffic. A good practical talk.
