Allison Randal followed Larry with the State of the Carrot, explaining in rhyme the story of Perl and Perl 6 in the style of Lewis Carroll's The Hunting of the Snark. She explained what's been going on in the last year with Perl 5 (unicode fixes and minor things), Parrot (releases and objects!), Ponie (releases), Pugs (optimised for fun, and with impressive velocity), CPAN, The Perl Foundation (Google's Summer of Code), perl.org, pm.org (South America is where the action is at). Pictures of the pumpkins scared us all. As she had promised, the talk was 100% carrot joke free!
