Wireless at last!

I'm writing this journal entry in my kitchen, with no wires at all. No power wires. No internet wires. Nothing. It's amazing, now I can finally do all that kitchen hacking I've been missing out on in the past!

I gave in and got myself a wireless network. I got a Buffalo Airstation doodah wotsit from Micro Anvika in Tottenham Court Road - they're basically rebadged Lucent ones with terribly bad translation. Setting it up was trivial.

Wireless hasn't made it terribly big here in the UK so far. I know of a couple of people who have wireless networks (and we failed to organise one for YAPC::Europe), but I think its time has now come. I read an article recently stating that the three pivotal geek gadgets being: a) bandwidth (errr, no chance of that here in the UK), b) laptops (like dear old piglet here), and c) wireless networks. Well, I kinda agree with that, although more details to come soon no doubt when I find that it doesn't go through my walls.

I'm wireless baby, yeah. And just in time for YAPC::NA, what a coincidence.

Now about that wireless power...
