Me at OsBootCamp 8

OS Bootcamp is a cool initiative to inform and initiate university students to the wonders of the Open Source world.

OsBootCamp 8, which took place on August 28th, was about interpreted programming languages. On the agenda were short introductions of the three big kids on the block (Perl, Python and Ruby). And yup, the honor to ramble about Perl was given to li'll old me. For the morbidly curious, there's a video of the resulting show. :-)

Perty!

Because I already know Perl but was still curious, I let the presentation video run once without sound while I was doing other stuff, so I could regularly take a peek.

One thing I noticed on the site with the presentation is that the OCR system, window in the bottom left with title "table of contents", consistently mistook "Perl" on the slides as "Pert".

As this is the keyword for the whole presentation, that made me smile somewhat grimly.

Oy. How embarassing. :-/

I didn't watch the video myself, so I didn't see that. I'll warn the OSBootcamp guys and see if I can get it corrected. Thanks for the head's up!
