I read a pretty sad story this morning in the LA Times, about how laid-off white-collar workers are taking seasonal jobs, and some are having trouble even landing those. The story's from AP, so you can read it at CNN.com, which doesn't require registration like the LA Times site. (A PITA, but that's for another time.)
The story mentions Tim Bunce, a senior software manager who was twice laid off this year. Is this our own Tim Bunce of DBI fame? (I thought he was in Ireland, and this person is in North Carolina.) Not that it would be better if it was any other Tim Bunce, but I find it incredible that a person with his knowledge is having trouble finding work.
Makes me think I should stop complaining about my client. At least I have one, who even pays on time. But as Joe Walsh sang, "I can't complain, but sometimes I still do."
