Hooray for metro trains

This is the second day I rode the LA Metrolink train to downtown. What a difference over driving (which I've done far too many times to count). I relaxed and looked at the cars stopped in traffic. It costs $8 a day, but saves a ton of wear and tear on me.

Now I just need to figure out what to do during the 40 minutes it takes to get here. I don't have a laptop, and don't really want to carry one just to use on the trip. I figure the next best thing is reading. I think I'll attempt "The Silmarillion" again.

Suggestions are welcome.

Palm Pilot?

I used to read books from project gutenburg on my palm pilot on the train. The Mark Twain books were my favourites. I found it was better than a paperback book because it didn't matter if we went into tunnels (backlight), and it would automatically save my place without a bookmark or folding the pages.

Oh, and they double up to make great calendars too!
