My wife and I decided not to give each other presents this year. We decide that every year, and give each other presents anyway....
This year I got a Misono gyotou (chef's knife). A fantastic knife for the kitchen: sharp as a razor blade, and hefty as a good hammer. I was admiring it and getting ready to put it back in its box, when I noticed blood pumping from my finger in rhythm to my heartbeat....
Man, that thing is sharp. And it's a pain typing here with a band-aid on my finger.
Tonight I'll be making a lamb roast. I will have a new level of respect for my xmas present.
Update
My mistake: it's not a Misono, it's a Hattori.
