Today is Veterans day in the US, and the bank I'm currently consulting for is closed. However, consultants and contractors are allowed to come in to work if they want (lucky us).
The building is open, and only a few other people from my company are here. I had a particuarly tedious task to finish, and I decided to to do it today mainly because I knew not many others would be around. All I hear is an occasional clicking of keys, and background white noise from the air conditioner.
I like it. To me, quiet has always been one of the most important qualities of a good workplace.
