The last couple of days we've had some rain in Ellay, which, as btilly noted, causes a great deal of confusion around here.
This morning my commuter train was delayed for more than an hour, the longest delay I've experienced. But I still did better than one of my co-workers, whose train got cancelled (they drove them in on the bus, which took 2.5 hours). Later they announced that they had cancelled my train line as well due to flooding on the tracks -- effectively stranding me downtown.
As I was pondering my choices (Take a bus? Find a ride? Sleep downtown?) I got an update that they've opened the tracks to at least past my station. Whew.
When I lived in Indiana, we used to mock places like Southern California, where towns can be paralyzed because of a few inches of rain or snow. I guess I've gone soft over the years.
