Today I finally buckled down and installed Fedora Core 2 on my old box. It used to run RedHat 7.3, and I was just tired of finding stuff that wouldn't run, or that I couldn't upgrade to.
I decided to "install" rather than "upgrade" because I wanted to clean up my partitions. The install went very smooth, and most everything is back to normal.
The main thing I haven't gotten to work is Crossover plug-in. (Actually, I guess there's no such product anymore -- it's all Crossover office now.) Flash works, but neither Quicktime nor Director do. The former means I can't see movie previews, and the latter means I can't play my favorite internet game. Sigh....
The other thing I find weird is I can't tell what's supposed to be controlled thru Gnome and what's thru KDE -- which control panel do you pull up for what. Getting the font sizes right has been rather weird....
But all in all, I'm glad I went thru with it. Most stuff runs more smoothly.
