Yesterday we went to the pound and brought home a new pooch. She's a mutt -- appears to be a shepherd and labrador mix. She's mostly black with a white blaze on her chest, and white paws, so the kids named her Cookie, as in Oreo.
We made it thru her first night OK: she was still recovering from spaying. This morning she's spry and attentive. One thing I find amazing is that she doesn't like to chew. We've given her a couple of chew toys, and she's not interested at all. Maybe she's still a little out of it.
In any case, she's already brought a lot of joy to the house. The kids are just delighted. I've taken a shine to her too.
