Tattoo U

Dear Log,

OK, I'm mildly impressed:

«Researchers at Texas A&M and Penn State universities are developing a tattoo that allows diabetics to monitor glucose levels instead of the painful finger-prick device. Chemistry and Industry reports that the tattoo is made of beads coated with fluorescent molecules that are injected under the skin and can be used to measure glucose levels in the body. When the glucose level is low, fluorescence is high. With help from a watch-like device - yet to be made - that could measure the fluorescence, the technique would allow pain-free and around-the-clock monitoring. »
