Dear Log,
Yesterday, while walking out of the bathroom in a Mexican bus station (Mexican busses are, by the way, vastly cheaper and vastly more comfortable than Greyhound, and many lines run in the Southwest US), I did a double-take on some graffiti that my eye scanned past. It wasn't the usual braided angular letters; the letters were distinct, almost prim, and each was very very complicated, like a printer/plotter gone crazy. As I always do with a new bit of script, I looked for the "G", since over the millennia that's been the most unstable letterform, and I'm always curious what will become of it now. The shape of the "G" in the graffiti was especially complex, and only by seeing it in "Los An_eles" could I even identify it. The shape, while impressively complex, gave me an unreal sense of deja vu that I couldn't shake, but also couldn't place.
Later I realized it was exactly one of the letter forms from the Codex Seraphinianus. I found this... unnerving.
