Dear Log,

«As for the TV producer/writer of "The Simpsons" who helped create it? Well, he thinks naming Albuquerque's new Triple-A baseball team the Isotopes is just hilarious. "I think everything should be named after cartoons," Mike Scully said Wednesday.»

--"D'OH DINGER:Mayor scowls, but `Simpsons' writer thinks Isotopes name is a homer"

«The Isotopes originated in a March 2001 episode of the Fox prime-time cartoon "The Simpsons." In that episode, Homer Simpson stumbles upon a plot to move his favorite minor-league baseball team, the Springfield Isotopes, to Albuquerque.»

--"Albuquerque team to be called Isotopes"

That rocks

I might like the Red Sox better if they were called "The L'il Abners." Recall that the Red Sox's were founded at the turn of the century and my knowledge of funnies only goes back so far. ;-)

"My preference is the Dukes," Chavez said. "I love Bart Simpson. I'm a Simpsons fan. But the team name is fundamental to how we see ourselves and how others see us. When the fad of `The Simpsons' is gone . ."."

"The Simpsons" has been on the air for 13 seasons with more than 300 episodes.
