Dear Log,
So I was having no luck finding anyone to do Hebrew or Persian localizations of Apache::MP3. And then yesterday, out of the blue, two people email me about it! The Persian localization is in the works, and the Hebrew version is apparently done already!
And in other news: che beeeella
And Yiddish, the unappreciated Germanic language, is now in the works.
Still no word back yet from the people who're going to give it a try for Hungarian, Danish, Afrikaans, Estonian, or Welsh. And I've got no leads yet on (modern) Greek, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, or Romanian -- or, to get to the smaller national languages in Europe: Armenian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Maltese, Macedonian, Basque, or Faroese. I can't find anyone to do Hawaiian or Maori either.
I've also not even touched the dozen important Indic languages, as I don't know whether the whole problem of how to encode them has been ironed out; it seems to be a point of angry contention on the Unicode list.
