More languages

Dear Log,

So I've got Apache::MP3 localizations for French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese (among many others). So I know what you're saying: You almost have all the official languages of the Americas. Almost -- because I'm missing Inuktitut, the language of Nunavut, Canada's far north semiautonomous co-prosperity sphere for its Arctic Native folks. So today I emailed one of the big language experts up there asking for a translation of the phrases in the Apache::MP3 interface. I should also try for some more mundane languages, like Cherokee and Swahili.

Let it be said: I have friends in high places. Arctic places, in fact.

You need Apache as well as Cherokee.

Regrettably, there is no language "Apache" -- it's a family of languages, with varying degrees of mutual (in)comprehensibiliy.

I was afraid that would happen. I did try to educate myself with Google searches, but the status wasn't clear to me, so in true Web discussion/Usenet tradition I posted anyway.
